The site of the Mishkan, Tabernacle, on Har Grizim
The Samaritans claim the Mishkan stood here, on the summit of Har Grizim
(and not in Shilo to the south)
until it was destroyed following the death of Eli haCohen.
This is hallowed ground on which no-one may tread.
The entire Samaritan body corpus ascends to this high point at 4 in the morning,
three times a year, on each of the pilgrimage festivals.
On the way, they stop to pray nearby at a site on which they claim
stood the 12 stones on which the entire Torah was written by Yehoshua
